At the end of the day, I’m a storyteller and dialed in listener.

I started fundraising formally in 2007, bringing my background in event production to Planned Parenthood of New York City’s Activist Council (their grassroots fundraising arm). I chaired the PPNYCAC’s Fundraising Committee from 2008-2012, co-creating fundraising events around Manhattan — from rooftop burlesque performances to intimate wine events.

I added traditional development and donor-related skills to my repertoire at New York University’s Heyman Center for Nonprofit Fundraising and Philanthropy, studying under the late, great Naomi Levine.

In 2015, I was recruited by the Center for Nonprofit Excellence to reimagine their communications and marketing. In this role I identified what was most relevant to the central New Mexico community of nonprofit professionals: representation.

Through innovative-at-the-time marketing strategies and comms techniques, I focused on establishing the organization as a relevant source for sector news and resource for leadership development and organizational capacity-building. A year later I became the organization's Executive Director and dove into business planning, organizational assessments, community-listening, and building stakeholder support for its next chapter.

Through Mariposa Strategies, my successes as a business owner, executive coach and organizational strategist are largely attributed to my background in fundraising and marketing/comms. I built a multi-six figure business from the ground up through attuned listening, focused storytelling and trust-building.
